< “Agamemnon” is a harbinger of good things to come -- CHICAGO THEATER BLOG >
"Menekseoglu--who also plays the title role--makes it a small, stunning portrait of power dynamics in a relationship that by turns echoes those between Edward Albee's George and Martha, Orson Welles's Charles and Susan Kane, and Sophocles's Antigone and Creon. Oh, and Jean Cocteau's Belle and Bete, too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" --Tony Adler, Chicago Reader
"I am now a fan of Dream Theatre because they do not shy away from being theatrical. I feel there has been a developing trend to create plays that want to be movies, but Dream Theatre embraces the theatrical experience."
"The play has a timeless quality juxtaposing Ancient Greek names and places with contemporary vernacular, and an old time radio feel."
"It is a Herculean achievement (no pun intended) to create a two-person play that never feels over spoken...Courtney Arnett and Jeremy Menekseoglu both gave powerful performances"
"it worked to the production's advantage to have Menekseoglu serve as the writer, director, and actor."
"there is not a bad seat in the house"
"Dream Theatre's mission is to "Leave no member of the audience to feel as a mere spectator, but to be at the very center of the play", and they do just that with the preshow. The performance began from the moment I entered the lobby, and continued until I got to my seat."
-Chris Arnold, Steadstyle Chicago
